England vs South Africa, Rugby World Cup 2007, live at The Café Royal, London

14th September 2007

Creating special corporate hospitality events for the Property Industry

Property Events provided the commercial property sector with a fantastic opportunity to entertain clients and staff at a luxury broadcast of England’s opening match of the 2007 Rugby World Cup against South Africa at the Stade de France in Paris. The event had been highly anticipated in the media for weeks, as the reigning World Champions looked to become the first country to retain the trophy against the favourites to take the crown in their opening group game.

What we did

Property Events decided to create a special venue for leading players in the property sector to come together to watch the game in luxury surroundings that afforded great networking opportunities and the chance to impress key clients.

160 people watched the live match between England and South Africa in central London in the surroundings of the Café Royal on Regent Street, one of London’s most respected and famous locations. It is steeped in sporting tradition and high fashion, and is home to some of the leading sporting institutions in the country.

Guests were treated to a four course dinner with fine wine, a champagne reception and a complimentary bar all night. The match was shown on the highest quality plasma screens and from state of the art televisions placed around the room.

We scored with our goals – even if England didn’t

The only aspect of the event that Property Events were not responsible for was the result. England’s 36-0 opening match defeat was the responsibility of the team and management. Property Events believe that had they been involved, the match would have run far smoother for the defending World Champions.

Despite the result, the event was a terrific success and enjoyed by all. The party continued after the game with hosts entertaining guests at the complimentary bar providing fantastic networking opportunities for the commercial property industry.
